What are The Requirements for Water-Cooling Air Compressors?

1. The water pressure of the cooling water is generally controlled between 0.3-0.5 MPa, and the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet water is above 0.15 Mpa.
2. The cooling water temperature should be controlled below 35 °C. Generally, the cooling water system needs to install a cooling tower.
3. The reference flow of cooling water is as follows, which can be adjusted according to the power of the unit. If more precise flow is required, please refer to the air compressor instruction manual:

  1. Below 100 HP: 15m3/h; 100-200 HP: 20m3/h;
  2. 200-300 HP: 25m3/h; 300 HP or more: 30m3/h;

4. Water quality requirements:

  1. A. pH: 6.8 < pH < 8
  2. B. Total dissolved solids: < 450 mg / liter
  3. C. Total hardness (expressed as CaCO3): < 300 mg / liter
  4. D. Suspended matter: < 50 mg / liter
  5. E. Chloride (Cl-): < 150 mg / liter

5. The water quality of the customer should be tested regularly. If the water quality does not meet the above requirements, the cooling water must be treated with a professional water treatment method until the water quality meets the standard.
6. Due to the extremely high hardness of deep well water, deep well water should be avoided. Remarks: In the event that the cooler is fouled in future use, it cannot be descaled by pickling. A professional water treatment method should be used to clean the cooler with a chemical that does not corrode the metal.
